Arge Marshalling Yard Linz, Extension II

Brief Description
For the future expansion to the four-platform "Westbahn", new cable runs and signalling facilities had to be constructed between the Traunbrücke bridge and the Linz marshalling yard. Due to the short run-up period (awarded on 02.11.2007, start of construction on 5.11.2007) and the consequent postponement of the main work until the winter, carrying out the work in the short construction time was difficult. Also making work more difficult was the fact that all work had to be carried out in the platform area without interrupting the running of the trains or affecting the existing cabling. The ministerially specified commissioning deadline was adhered to, which was praised by the builder-owners.
