A2 SOUTH AUTOBAHN (Bridge Construction)

Brief Description
Construction of the second lane of A2 south autobahn in the "Unterwald" section from proj. km 217,265 – 225,150 without ever interupting highway traffic. The total length of the construction section is approx. 7.9 km, of which approx. 2.2 km are bridge construction. The bridges are 26 - 462 m long. The foundations consist of well foundations and flat foundations on solid rock. The supports and pillars are up to 40 m high. The superstructure of most of the bridges is constructed as a pre-stressed double-girdered t-beam supporting structure. The object P37V was adapted to the existing construction as a double-girdered four-field steel composite bridge. The object P30V is built as a double-girdered composite supporting structure with decking slab made of high-performance concrete.

Scope of Work
12 bridge objects, 1 flyover object and 2 portal frame culverts. Construction was carried out with framework carriage, conventional carriage and as composite supporting structure (2 objects).
